About the tanks [10 Dec 2009|09:35am] hime1999 I think I relied too much on LJ's notifications to let me know that people are commenting on my LJ, cuz only now they came to me. o_O;;;; I think I made some people worry here, sorry..... Anyway, about the tanks on my previous post, it turned up that they were preparations for International Antigraft Day at Dec 9, since there was going to be demonstrations and rallies around the nation, and it was worried that some people would use this to create havoc, repeating May Riots in 1995 which was started from students demostration against Soeharto's regime at the time. Turned out that the day passed relatively uneventful. There were demonstrations all over the nation, yes, but the worst that happened was that one KFC restaurant was destroyed by the mass in Makassar (no idea why) and one police car destroyed becaused of a misunderstanding (wtf?). In Jakarta itself, the sudden heavy rain dissolved the mass for a while, but after that, the demonstrations went on as normal as it could get. Of course, everyone was worried, so the atmosphere was pretty tense, especially for us who couldn't miss work thanks to meetings with HQ. >:EEE But everything was okay. Randomly, I will insert the pic I snapped from my own cellphone. It was rather dissettling to hear something you've only heard in war movies and to look out from your window to find them.
